Musicology
The Division of Musicology at TCU deepens your understanding of music within cultural and philosophical contexts.
Our graduates pursue advanced research in prestigious doctoral programs worldwide and build careers as educators, archivists, historians, authors, and university administrators.
Musicology is woven throughout the School of Music and campus life:
- Music majors complete a three-semester History of Music sequence plus a World Music course.
- Upper-division and graduate courses cover diverse periods, genres, and media.
- Early music enthusiasts can perform with the Collegium Musicum.
- Non-majors explore Western, jazz, popular, or world music through various survey courses
- The Music/Media Library offers thousands of scores, books, CDs, and videos, providing space for study and discovery.
