The School of Music offers numerous merit scholarships, including up to full-tuition awards, with many students receiving both music and academic scholarships. Non-music majors may also be considered for scholarships based on audition and ensemble needs.

Nordan Young Artist Award Scholarship 

Open to entering first-year students of superior talent in music with 12 or fewer semester hours of academic credit. Selection is based on an audition as part of the application process. Students who satisfy the criteria for renewal will be designated Nordan Scholars and receive a merit-based award annually for the remainder of their undergraduate program (renewable for up to three years). 

Marching Band Scholarship 

Students in the TCU Marching Band receive a $4,000 scholarship during the fall semester in which they participate. For more information, contact band@tcu.edu or call 817-257-7640. 

Graduate Assistantships 

Graduate assistantships are available to qualified, full-time graduate students. Applicants must be admitted to the program, have an excellent academic record and submit favorable recommendations. 

Master’s and doctoral applicants will be considered for assistantships as part of their application. Assistantships include a tuition grant, stipend and require about ten hours of work per week. 

Application deadlines: 
Dec. 1 for doctoral and piano applications. 
Jan. 15 for master’s applications. 

Artist Diploma Tuition Waivers 

Full tuition waivers are available to qualified Artist Diploma students. Applicants must be admitted to the program and demonstrate an excellent academic record. Waiver consideration will be part of the application process.
