Jazz Ensembles

Main Content

The TCU Jazz Ensembles encompass two big bands, a vocal jazz ensemble, and several small student combos, offering diverse opportunities for jazz performance and education.

The ensembles’ performances extend across national and international stages, including tours in Cuba, Europe, and Russia. They have also showcased their talent at prestigious conventions such as the College Band Directors National Association and the Texas Music Educators Association.

The ensembles have performed alongside renowned jazz artists, including Jon Faddis, Don Menza, Urbie Green, Ed Shaughnessy, Mike Vax, Clark Terry, Marvin Stamm, Pat Williams, and Allen Vizzutti, among others.

Since its inception in 1978, the annual TCU Jazz Festival has grown into one of the most premier jazz festivals in the Southwest. Over its history, it has welcomed more than 10,000 high school students and featured acclaimed guest artists, creating an inspiring and educational experience for our students, participants and audiences alike.
