Applicants will be notified if they advance to the audition round to perform on campus. All auditions must be completed by February 8. First-year undergraduates invited to audition will be considered for scholarships.

A total of two selections recorded with a piano accompanist or accompaniment track. Selections should be from the classical repertoire/music theatre. The vocal arts division does not teach commercial music.  

  • One selection in English.
  • One selection in a foreign language.
  • All selections must be performed from memory in their entirety.
  • Singing only portions of your selections will not be accepted.

A total of two selections previously submitted as part of the prescreening performance and performed with a piano accompanist*. Efforts to include a diverse repertoire would be appreciated.

  • The audition will include a brief tonal memory and sight singing exam. 

*An accompanist will be provided for voice auditions, or you may bring your own if you wish.

  • High-quality copies of the piano scores must be uploaded as a PDF in the initial online application or by message through the School of Music Admission Application no later than 14 days prior to the audition.
  • Prerecorded accompaniments are not permitted for the audition.
  • Live auditions are recommended. If you are unable to schedule a live audition, you may submit video audition recordings.
