Applicants will be notified if they advance to the audition round to perform on campus. All auditions must be completed by February 8. First-year undergraduates invited to audition will be considered for scholarships. 

Euphonium-Tuba  

  • A two- to four-minute recording of a solo work (no études), with or without accompaniment.
  • Prepare two contrasting solo works that best showcase the applicant’s musical abilities. Selections can include separate movements from a multi-movement work or two different compositions. 
  • Note: An étude may be used in place of one of the solo works, but candidates are asked to avoid performing any all-state études from current or previous years. 
  • Prepare two excerpts of your choice from standard orchestra, band, and/or jazz repertoire.  
  • Possible sight-reading.
  • Piano accompaniment is not required for prescreening or live auditions. 
  • Live auditions are recommended. If you are unable to schedule a live audition, you may submit video audition recordings. 
  • The length of each live audition is approximately 15 minutes.

French Horn
