Piano Artist Diploma Audition Requirements

Applicants will be notified if they advance to the audition round to perform on campus. Applicants invited to audition will be considered for scholarships and graduate assistantships. 

  • The prescreening video must be a minimum of 30 minutes of repertoire chosen by the applicant.
  • All music must be performed from memory. 

For the live audition, prepare a program at least 60 minutes in length which includes the following:   

  • One work from the Baroque period  
  • One complete sonata from the Classical period  
  • One major work from the 19th century  
  • Two etudes of virtuosity, one of which must be by Chopin  
  • One work from the 20th or 21st century  
  • Repertoire for the live audition may differ from the prescreening video, if desired.  

All music must be performed from memory. 
Length of live audition is 45 minutes, including performance and interview.
