Percussion
Applicants will be notified if they advance to the audition round to perform on campus. Applicants invited to audition will be considered for scholarships and graduate assistantships.
- Piece(s) demonstrating ability on keyboard percussion (2 mallet, 4 mallet, or both)
- Piece(s) demonstrating ability on snare drum (concert, rudimental, or both)
- Pieces(s) demonstrating ability on timpani
- Drumset styles demonstration (rock, jazz, Latin)
To manage the required repertoire, selections should be concise. Performing one movement of a longer piece or using cuts is acceptable. At the on-campus audition, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the following percussion areas:
- A two mallet keyboard percussion piece
- A four mallet keyboard percussion piece
- A concert snare drum piece
- A rudimental snare drum (or tenor) piece
- A timpani piece
- Drumset styles demonstration (rock, jazz, Latin)
- Sight read and interview with percussion faculty members.
