Oboe Studio

Main Content

The Oboe Studio develops future educators and performers through lessons, performance opportunities, reed-making instruction and academic study.

The Oboe Studio offers instruction to both undergraduate and graduate students, with opportunities for non-majors to further develop their oboe skills and perform in the university’s high-caliber ensembles.

Weekly studio lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on:

  • Etudes
  • One-on-one reed-making instruction
  • Scales
  • Solo and ensemble literature across all musical genres and periods
  • Technical studies

Lessons are enhanced with group reed classes, studio classes, and guest artist masterclasses when possible.
