Harp Studio

In the Harp Studio, you’ll receive well-rounded instruction in both repertoire and technique, focusing on major harp literature with an emphasis on supple playing, tone production and clear articulation.
Available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, the studio includes studies in harp pedagogy, orchestral excerpts, improvisation techniques and masterclass opportunities with visiting guest artists.
The harp ensemble enhances the private study and large ensemble experience for TCU harpists. Through instructor-led rehearsals and coaching, you’ll build strong ensemble skills, harp technique, musicianship, stage presence and professional conduct.
Skills developed in the ensemble translate to excellence in chamber music, accompanying vocalists or choirs, and performing in orchestras or bands. Students tackle advanced repertoire from various musical styles, including arrangements of well-known works and original compositions for harp ensemble.
Meeting weekly for two-hour rehearsals, the ensemble provides performance opportunities, including:
- Annual harp ensemble spring recital
- Class recitals
- Duo or trio performances at the School of Music Recital Hour
- Recitals at university and public events
