For more than two decades, “Ellis Island: The Dream of America” has been a collaboration between the Department of Theatre and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO). Directed by Professor of Theatre Harry Parker, Ph.D., the multimedia performance blends orchestral music, historical narration and imagery to tell the stories of immigrants arriving in America through Ellis Island in the early 20th century.

Associate Professor of Theatre Ian Loveall, M.F.A., served as associate scenic designer in collaboration with Las Vegas–based Andy Walmsley Entertainment, contributing to a large-scale immersive environment for a corporate event for an artificial intelligence company.

Associate Professor of Theatre Lydia Mackay, M.F.A., is known regionally for her stage work, but she’s recognized internationally for her voice-over work on acclaimed anime series, all with devoted followings.
