Congratulations to Department of Theatre student Henry Cawood ’26, recipient of the prestigious Howard Vincent Kurtz Emerging Theatre Artist Award! This esteemed honor is presented annually to a student who demonstrates exceptional talent and dedication, with a focus on nurturing their growth in the field of theatre.

Professor Martin Blessinger, Associate Professor Stuart Cheney and Instructor II Gina Bombola of the TCU School of Music have been named 2024–2025 Gentling Fellows by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. This prestigious fellowship supports scholarly and creative projects connected to the legacy of Fort Worth artists Stuart and Scott Gentling — brothers celebrated for their realist paintings of birds, landscapes and murals, including the iconic ceiling of Bass Performance Hall.

TCU Professor of Dance Suki John, Ph.D., has won the prestigious 2025 Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Choreography in a Feature Film for “Sh’ma: A Story of Survival,” surpassing major box office contenders such as “Wicked,” “Snow White” and “Emilia Pérez.”

This summer, the eyes of the classical music world turn once again to Fort Worth for the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition — one of the most prestigious events in the global music scene. Held every four years, the Cliburn Competition showcases extraordinary young pianists, offering them a platform to launch international careers.

The College of Fine Arts Academic & Creative Excellence Award celebrates the exceptional accomplishments of graduating seniors. Each academic year, up to three outstanding students are selected from each department and school within the College to be honored with this award.
