Program Overview
With a focus on well-being and sustainability, our program prepares you for a thriving
industry with exciting career opportunities and strong post-graduation success.
Through a blend of theory and hands-on projects, you’ll gain expertise in areas such as:
- Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
- Concept development
- Construction drawing and documentation
- Lighting/acoustics/MEP system design team collaboration
- Materials, finishes and sustainable practices
- Principles and elements of design
- Space planning

Students are expected to have a personal laptop that meets the department’s computer policy to ensure success in studio and design courses.
Design Foundations & Qualifying Examination
To declare a BFA in Interior Design, students must pass a Qualifying Examination after completing all
six Design Foundations courses.
