Center for Lighting Education

Main Content

Founded in 1998, the Center for Lighting Education provides students with hands-on experiences alongside industry professionals, allowing them to create mockups that assess the impact of various lighting effects. This exploration of lighting qualities is essential to both the interior design and the architectural lighting design programs

The center’s approach also benefits the wider TCU community and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex through industry partnerships with the Illuminating Engineering Society, the International Association of Lighting Designers, ArchLight Summit and others. The 900-square-foot facility includes a height-adjustable ceiling system and a heliodon enabling comprehensive demonstrations of electric lighting and daylighting.
