Computer Policy
Design Pre-majors
Incoming students are not required to provide a computer. After completing the design foundations and qualifying examination, accepted students are expected to have a personal laptop that meets the department’s computer policy to ensure success in studio and design courses. Please review the requirements for your intended major.
Architectural Interior Design & Architectural Lighting Design
The software used by the architecture, interior, and lighting design industry is PC-based. Upon successful passage of the qualifying examination, majors are required to purchase a PC laptop based upon specifications updated annually by the program.
graphic Design
The software used by the graphic design industry is Mac-based. Upon successful passage of the Qualifying Examination, students are required to purchase a Macintosh laptop. The latest specs will be updated annually and sent with your acceptance into the program.
