Najwa Seyedmorteza is a movement artist who received both her B.A and M.F.A in Dance at Texas Woman’s University (TWU). She began her movement journey when she was a child. Being a bolt of energy, she became interested in sports and trained in both gymnastics and taekwondo. She earned her black belt and was an elite athlete. Najwa’s movement history influences her research, dance style and choreography tremendously. Her dance training officially began in 2011 under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Kihyoung Choi. Najwa has experience in African dance, ballet, modern dance, improvisation, dance film, dance composition, performance and contact improvisation. She has presented choreography at the American Collegiate Dance Association (ACDA), FRESH Festival San Francisco and the Symposium at Texas Woman’s University. She has performed at Texas Dance Improvisation Festival (TDIF), ACDA, Greater Denton Arts Council, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and the Dallas DanceFest. In her research and  choreography, she explores world building, extreme physicality, state shifting, and exhaustion which expose an authentic state of  being/listening-reacting, and performance.
