David Brock, Baritone, Retired in 2022 as a Professor of Voice at Texas Christian University. He was on the full-time faculty at TCU for 20 years and was Chair of Voice for 10 years. Previous positions include those at the University of the Pacific, Boston Conservatory of Music, Texas Woman’s University, the International Summer Music Academy, Abilene Christian University, Anna Maria College, and the Goldovsky Summer Vocal Institute. He was the Voice Coordinator for the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, for 18 seasons. Mr. Brock holds a BA from Abilene Christian University and an MM from the New England Conservatory of Music. He has served as Artistic Director of the Abilene Opera Association and Quisisana (Maine) and as Music Director of Abilene Collegiate Opera. Mr. Brock has worked as a freelance voice teacher and vocal coach in Fort Worth, Boston, Dallas, Abilene, and Stockton. Former students have appeared with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Bayreuth Festival, and Bayerische Staatsoper. They have been winners and finalists in the Regional Metropolitan Opera Competition, AIMS Meistersinger Competition, NATS Artist Awards and Singer of the Year Competition and have been awarded the Grady Harlan Award at Texoma NATS.  They have held apprenticeships with the Chicago Opera Theater and the Santa Fe Opera Festival.  Students have appeared on Broadway and in National Tours. His students have been awarded significant scholarships to the Manhattan School of Music, Eastman, Cleveland Institute, Oberlin, New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Boston University, and the Nordan Full Scholarship to TCU. As conductor, music director, and/or stage director, he has directed Albert Herring, Hansel and Gretel, Pagliacci, Susannah and the Elders (World Premiere), Ballad of Baby Doe, Cosi fan tutte, Magic Flute, Marriage of Figaro, Merry Wives of Windsor, Gianni Schicchi, La Cenerentola, and Die Fledermaus.  He has appeared as a pianist for singers and instrumentalists in over 500 recitals throughout the USA, Europe, and Korea, including performances in Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
