Transfer Admission Policy
Transferring to TCU offers a strategic path to fulfill core requirements and prepare for our rigorous design programs. It’s crucial to note that our programs follow a structured sequence, and transfer credits do not automatically accelerate graduation.
Incoming transfer students must complete the following:
- Declare as a pre-major in Graphic Design, Interior Design or Design Studies before orientation
- Completion of required foundation courses within the first year
- Complete the Qualifying Examination
Students interested in transferring credits for design courses need to schedule an appointment with a Design Faculty Advisor via Design@tcu.edu.
- This step can be taken at any point in the application process.
- During the meeting, we will ensure your understanding of degree plans, Qualifying Examination requirements and the process for submitting transfer articulation.
To transfer credit for a design course, you’ll need to submit a portfolio of your work along with a syllabus from the most closely related class you’ve completed (more work is preferable). Please upload your syllabus and portfolio to the following folder:
