About

Melvin Harrison received a Bachelor’s degree in music business from West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas and a Masters degree in violin performance from TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.  He studied Suzuki Pedagogy and has received Suzuki teacher training from Barbara Barber, Jackie Maur, and Rhonda Cole.  Melvin has been a member of the Amarillo Symphony, Randall Chamber Orchestra, and served as concert master of the Southwest Symphony.  He also served as concertmaster and appeared as a soloist with the Northeast Orchestra, was engaged as a guest artist on the Laredo Philharmonic chamber music series, and has performed in Carnegie Hall as a member of America’s Youth in Concert.   He has maintain a private violin studio for over 30 years where he shares his love for music with his students.
