BFA Music Education

How has your experience in the College of Fine Arts prepared you for your next step?
Through the College of Fine Arts, I have had many opportunities to perform and lead musical experiences on some of the largest stages in the industry. Experiences such as performing at CBDNA and TMEA with the Wind Symphony, as well as conducting the halftime show at the Alamo Bowl, have prepared me to guide future students through meaningful musical experiences. Professors Laura and Thomas Singletary, Dr. Bobby Francis, Dr. Brian Youngblood and other faculty members have given me the tools I need to succeed as an educator.

What has been a highlight or defining moment during your time at TCU?
Having the opportunity to conduct the marching band during the Alamo Bowl overtime performance was the biggest highlight of my time at TCU. It is a moment I will never forget.

What are your plans after graduation, and what are you most excited about next?
I plan to work as an assistant band director at a high school or middle school in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am excited to meet my future students and make a positive impact on their lives.

BFA Musical Theatre, BA Music (Voice)

How has your experience in the College of Fine Arts prepared you for your next step?
I am graduating with a BFA in theatre with an emphasis in musical theatre and a BA in music with an emphasis in voice. My time in both the School of Music and the Department of Theatre at TCU provided rigorous training and countless performance opportunities that shaped me into a versatile performer. Through experiences in musical theatre, opera, choral music and multiple dance styles, I developed a strong technical foundation, adaptability and confidence in taking creative risks. I feel confident that TCU has prepared me well to enter the professional world.

What has been a highlight or defining moment during your time at TCU?
During my time at TCU, I had the opportunity to work with two regional theatres through co-productions. My first experience was during my freshman year in Kodachrome at Circle Theatre, where I performed alongside professional actors. Seeing their level of preparation and professionalism showed me the standard required in the industry. Later, through TCU’s co-production with Stage West, I played Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg in Ride the Cyclone. That experience gave me valuable insight into the process of professional productions, including working with a professional director and performing in an extended run.

What are your plans after graduation, and what are you most excited about next?
I have signed with Avalon Artists Group and will move to New York City in the fall to pursue a career in musical theatre, film and television, and music.
