Piano

With our long-standing reputation as a strong piano school, TCU offers a wide-ranging program to students of varying abilities. Piano majors study with an internationally known faculty of artists/teachers through a variety of program options. In addition to performance, studies in piano pedagogy and collaborative piano are offered at all levels of study. Non-majors can pursue piano study through group piano offerings and private study.

The TCU School of Music offers the following degree programs in piano:

The School of Music also offers a Bachelor of Arts in music and a music minor.

In addition, the School of Music offers the Artist Diploma ( post-baccalaureate ) program for the most advanced and gifted performers. Through their performance and credentials, these performers demonstrate the potential to become successful professional artists. The program is designed to provide intensive study and performance opportunities under the guidance of master teachers in preparation for a concert career. In particular, the longer length of the program (30 credit hours typically completed in five semesters) allows students to prepare for entry into international piano competitions. Any student that begins in Spring 2025 and after will be under the new 2.5-year program for Piano and must maintain 6 hours each semester to be full-time.

Scholarship support is available for talented undergraduate  music majors. Assistantships that include full-tuition remission plus a stipend are available for graduate students.
