Double Bass Studio

TCU Double Bass Studio

The TCU Double Bass Studio commits to cultivating all-level double bass students (BM, BME, BA, MM, DMA, and Artist Diploma), selecting from across the United States and internationally. The studio focuses on both orchestral and solo training.

The TCU Double Bass Studio provides opportunities for students to play in various types of ensembles, including the TCU Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, jazz ensembles, opera orchestra, chamber music, Baroque Collegium Musicum, and double bass ensembles. Double bass students also perform regularly in studio classes, guest artist master classes, student recitals, and some local professional orchestras in the DFW metropolitan area.

Outstanding guest artists from all over the world are invited to give demonstrations and master classes. Previous guests have included Gary Karr, François Rabbath, Timothy Cobb, Paul Ellison, Alex Hanna, Lawrence Hurst, Dan Styffe, Dennis Trembly, Frank Proto, Eugene Levinson, Scott Pingel, Tim Pitts, Michael Klinghoffer, David Nuebert, Leigh Mesh, Kevin Brown, and many others.

Students can also attend local professional concerts at the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Dallas Symphony Orchestra. This is an invaluable inspirational and learning tool. We hope you will consider TCU School of Music for you next education adventure. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to make a visit to our beautiful campus.
