Bassoon Studio

The TCU Bassoon Studio emphasizes individual instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals of tone production, articulation, technique, and musical style. The foundation of the study of the bassoon includes etudes, standard repertoire, and orchestral excerpts.

Studio classes involving reed making are given each semester. Students learn reed making in a stop-by-step process from the beginning stages to the finishing of the reed for performances.

Students in the bassoon studio participate in chamber music, from bassoon quartets to woodwind quintets.
