About

Elijah Un-Hao Ong is a native of Texas, having completed his master’s in piano performance under Professor John Owings at Texas Christian University, as well as his master’s in violin performance at TCU under Dr. Hae-rim Lee. Prior to coming to TCU, he was a 5-time FWMTA Solo Competition winner (Piano) and was the first prize winner of the 2015 FWYO Young Artists Concerto Competition (Violin). He was awarded the prestigious Nordan Scholarship upon entering TCU and has since won the 2018 TCU Concerto Competition (Piano), was the string division winner in the 2023 TCU Concerto Competition (Violin), and was the recipient of the Judith Solomon Award for Vocal Accompanying, the Presser Scholarship, and the Helen Hamilton Award for Excellence in Creative Expression. He has also played in masterclasses for world-class musicians such as Emanuel Ax, Murray McLachlan, Veda Kaplinsky, Brendan Shea, the Aletheia Piano Trio, and Eddy Marcano, and now frequently works as a collaborative pianist and violinist for various soloists and studios at TCU. He is an avid and proficient teacher in both instruments, and enjoys digital production and content creation outside of his studies.
