Inspire Through Movement
The school offers BFA degrees in ballet, modern dance, or ballet and modern dance (double major). Here, you'll engage in a thorough exploration of dance and its related disciplines, including:
- Choreography
- Improvisation
- Dance History
- Teaching Methodologies
- Career Preparation (audition techniques, resumes, websites, grad school, grants and more)
BFA students begin fulfilling degree requirements in their first semester at TCU.
- Foundational Coursework: All dance majors enroll in both ballet and modern dance technique classes during their first two semesters.
- Daily Classes: Foundational classes meet daily to foster skill development and prepare students to meet the evolving demands of the field.
- Performance Opportunities: Students perform in Brown Bag showcases of informal student-choreographed works, regional dance festivals, the Spring benefit concert hosted by Chi Tau Epsilon, and fall and spring capstone concerts featuring original choreography

Guest Artists in Residence
You can begin performing in SCCD concerts as early as your first year, with casting opportunities in six to eight performances annually. Each semester includes major faculty and guest artist concerts, along with residencies featuring nationally recognized choreographers and educators.
