Director’s Welcome

Main Content

Welcome to the School of Art at TCU.

At TCU, the study and practice of art history, studio art and art education are grounded in exploration, opportunity and growth. Here, you'll engage with contemporary practices, cultural life and scholarship in a dynamic environment supported by dedicated faculty, exceptional facilities, renowned galleries, meaningful mentorship and thoughtful career development.

Our faculty are accomplished artists, scholars and educators whose work shapes conversations locally, nationally and internationally. Our extraordinary staff and accomplished alumni cultivate a collaborative community that encourages students to think critically, pursue ambitious ideas and develop sustainable professional practices.

Located in the heart of Fort Worth — one of the nation's most vibrant arts communities — the School of Art offers exceptional access to world-class cultural institutions, including the Kimbell Art Museum, Amon Carter Museum of American Art and Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. These connections, combined with opportunities for travel, research, exhibitions, internships and community engagement, allow students to situate their work within broader regional and global conversations.

I believe there has never been a more important time to study and practice art. In a rapidly changing world, the arts cultivate critical thinking, creativity, ethical judgment and material inquiry while fostering forms of knowledge and community that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Whether your path leads to the studio, classroom, museum, graduate study or cultural fields beyond the arts, we are committed to helping you develop the skills, confidence and curiosity to build a meaningful future.

We look forward to welcoming you to the School of Art and, above all, supporting your growth as an artist, educator, scholar and creative thinker.
