The TCU Flute Choir, led by Associate Professor of Flute Shauna Thompson, will perform as an invited guest at this year’s National Flute Association Convention (NFA) in San Antonio. This prestigious event will feature workshops, panels and concerts with acclaimed flutists from around the globe.

Amy Hardison Tully, Teresa Ann Carter King Dean of the College of Fine Arts, will join the choir and perform with them at the Flute Ensemble Festival Concert on the opening day of the convention.

The TCU Flute Choir’s invitation to perform at the NFA is a testament to their extraordinary caliber of technical skill and musicality,” said Tully.

The TCU Flute Choir is an invited performer at this year’s National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio.

Comprised of undergraduate, master’s, artist diploma and doctoral students, the TCU Flute Choir spent the past year rehearsing for the concert. The choir earned their invitation by submitting recordings to a panel of judges, who selected the winners for this year’s convention.

The convention’s theme, “Flauta Mundi: Global Voices of the Flute,” highlights the global nature of the flute. Performances will focus on three distinct themes:

  • Cultural Diversity: The Far Corners of the Flute
  • The Arts: Flute as Collaborative Partner
  • Nature: Our Musical Connection
