About
Kamryn Brooks earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she competed in several vocal competitions, including a 1st place award in the National Association of Teachers of Singers (Collegiate Division). She was a performing artist with the University Singers and a frequent soloist. As a member and Treasurer of the Music Educator’s National Conference (UAA Student Division), she worked alongside others to raise funds for scholarships and other vital events to provide support for the music community.
After graduation, she decided to combine her love of music with teaching. In 2007, Kamryn became a certified Music Together® teacher and opened her studio where she offered private lessons in piano, guitar, and voice as well as offering group Music Together classes. Under her ownership, the studio grew from one class of 12-students to over 100 families in less than 3-years. In addition, she supervised and mentored four certified Music Together teachers whom she employed. During this time, she earned a Level 1 Certification as a Music Together teacher, a certification from the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, gained membership with The Gordon Institute for Music Learning and an active teacher’s membership with the National Association of Teachers for Singers.
Kamryn joined TCU in 2018 after relocating with her family from Alaska to Texas and she continues to share her joy of making music with others.
