About

Diego Torres Reyes is a DMA Candidate at Texas Christian University. Torres Reyes performed in the TCU Wind Symphony and TCU Symphony Orchestra between 2019 and 2023. Diego also holds a master’s in music performance from Texas Christian University, received in the spring of 2021. During his time at TCU, Diego has been invited to perform at important clinics such as the Texas Music Educators Association conference in San Antonio, Texas in 2020 and 2023, the International Clarinet Association Festival in Reno, Nevada in 2022, and the Midwest International Clinic in December of 2023. Before attending TCU, Diego finished his Undergraduate degree at Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas in Bogota, Colombia, where he studied with Jose Gomez. During that time, he was part of the Bogota Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Second Clarinet from 2014 to 2016 and Principal Clarinet from 2017 to 2019. Torres has also subbed for the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra and the Colombian National Symphony Orchestra. Diego has also been part of important music festivals around the world, such as the Young Euro Classic in Berlin in 2011, La Via dei Concerti in Italy in 2011, the Santa Catarina’s Music Festival (FEMUSC)  in 2014, and the Cartagena International Music Festival in 2015. Diego is finishing his Doctorate studies under Dr. Corey Mackey at TCU and hopes to find a college teaching job after graduation. He also hopes to engage in different orchestral auditions.
