Advising
Majors are advised by full-time graphic design and interior design faculty, during designated schedule advising time. All advising is individual, and typical advising appointments last around 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for students to talk one-on-one with their adviser, ask questions and express concerns.
The intimate size of the Department of Design limits the number of sections of certain classes and the frequency that they can be offered. Because of the sequential nature of most of these classes and the prerequisite order, academic advising needs to be careful and thorough.
Architectural Lighting Design minor is strongly encouraged to attend academic advising within this department.
Our faculty is accessible for informal advising and discussion during the academic year. Other than scheduled office hours, most have open-door policies, inviting students to drop in to talk.
